statement Inspired by seascapes, architecture and countryside, Emma combines ink, paint and illustration techniques to produce colourful and distinctive mixed-media works. Emma creates her compositions from photographs and sketches made on her journeys around the South coast. The work focuses on classic seaside scenery; sea and sky, boats and harbours, hotels, shops and towns all feature in Emma’s characteristic brightly coloured works. Having spent 6 years studying in London to gain both a BA and MA in Fine Art from Camberwell School of Art and the London College of Printing, Emma moved to Devon in 2007 in order to concentrate on painting. Whilst studying in London Emma worked as a free-lance illustrator for various advertising agencies and publishing houses. She has twice been involved with group shows at London’s ICA and has exhibited her work across the UK and Europe. |
